Parenting Decisions
Probably one of the hardest things of being a parent is all the decisions you have to make, from what your child eats and drinks, sleeping routines, where they are going to go to preschool, activities and friends, to the simplest of what he/she wears everyday. I know that as my children get older these decisions are going to change and become a lot more important. However, one decision that Ozzie and I had to face actually right away was whether or not to circumcise our son. After talking about it and researching what we could we decided against it. Not giving it another thought that was our decision and as his parents we felt we made the right one. Well tonight was our first glimpse at a decision we thought was the right one, go wrong. Noah made his first visit to the ER with a bad infection under his foreskin, caused by being uncircumsized. Poor baby! It was so traumatizing to hold down my little baby while TWO male doctors are examining his little parts. I kept it together to most of the visit but then just lost it, which was a bad idea because Noah then got even more upset, so I got myself together quickly for him and luckily we were out of there fast with some amazing medicine that has done its job. He is actually 100% better! Hopefully this will be the only infection that will happen otherwise we are faced with some big decisions on what to do. No one ever said that parenting was going to be easy, there really isn't a handbook to turn to or a website to look up all the answers. But so far I have learned so much and I know that every decision I make may not be the right one. There may be consequences for every decision we make, but I will continue to always make the best decision I can no matter what may or may not happen.
