Sofia Rae
Its a GIRL!!! Finally our baby girl made her appearance into the world on July 11th, 2013 at 6:39am, almost 41 weeks pregnant I would have to say it was a LONG last few days but she was definitely ready to greet the world... At around 8:30pm I started having some consistent intense contractions (finally!) I had been experiencing contractions for a few days but not anything consistent or intense. So I was excited when they started to become 4-5 mins apart, but still not sure that this was it. At around 11pm they were 3-4 mins apart and I knew it was definitely going to be tonight! I called Momo over to stay with Noah, and Ozzie and I headed to Vallejo around midnight. We just talked the whole way there between my contractions and I was actually feeling pretty good. Topic of our conversation- a boy's name, since we still had not agreed, and I think the one we were going to go with was Lucas! Anyways, we get to the hospital I walk in and get all checked in, the paperwork is ridiculous when you are contracting every 2 mins, and really I had to pee in a cup that was nearly impossible!! I get into the bed and the nurse checks me, and said I was at a 5!! Yay. I am able to be admitted and get into a room. Ozzie and I are taken into the room together just the two of us, which was a much different experience then I had with Noah, and I would have to say I really liked it just being us. Two hours went by and a lot of pain later I was a 7! Only 3 more to go, I can do this I told myself! Actually this time around wasn't as bad I again did it all natural no drugs or anything! But I did have the wonderful support of my husband who was with me through every contraction, talking me through it, reminding me how strong I was, and how I could do this. I really could not have done it with out him, and I am soooo thankful I have such a wonderful husband and I really feel this experience this time has brought us closer together! Two more hours, and lots and lots of pain I was at a 9, actually almost a 10! At that point I knew it was getting close, the nurse kept disappearing and we kept having to call her back in. I told her after another hour that I was ready to push, she is telling me that I need to make sure I am feeling constant pressure and that she will come check me in 15 mins...Ummmm hello yess I am feeling the pressure and need to push NOW! So I wait out the 15 mins and yell at my husband to get her in here because seriously its coming! So she lays me down and asks me to give her a push with her hand inside, one glove on I damn near push the baby out! She can't believe it she suddenly realizes I am ready...so she rushes to get everything together gets my legs in the stirrups and calls the doctor and by the time she is doing that, she doesn't have time to even get another glove on, and she is holding up my baby GIRL! 3 mins of pushing and Sofia was born...she holds her up so I can see that it is a GIRL, and I think I screamed louder than I did during transition! I honestly could not believe I had a daughter, my heart literally grew about 10 sizes and I grabbed her and held her in my arms and cried! No one could believe it, I called my mom and she thought I was lying! The next few days were of course a blur I think we were up for 28 hours before we got any sleep. However, it was all worth it, all the pain, lack of sleep, weight gain, two stretch marks, and 41 weeks of pregnancy all worth it when I saw my sweet baby girl. We are all so in love, even big brother Noah!
